Client case studies
These case studies demonstrate effective fundraising. In the last five years, Tarnside has helped raise over £25 million, usually with costs of less than 5%.
Often written in our clients' own words, they illustrate challenges overcome and lessons learned on recent projects. The case studies explain how Tarnside contributed to the process and we trust they will provide you with food for thought.

His Grace The Duke of Devonshire CBE
“I am delighted to see Abbeyfield Ilkley succeed and thrive. I am sure
it is as a result of the efforts of many and is, in my opinion, due in no
small part to the expertise and guidance of Patrick Boggon and his colleagues
at Tarnside Consulting.”
Peter Marshall OBE – Secretary, Sir George Martin Trust
“When I was told of the plans to establish a new Abbeyfield Ilkley costing
£9 million I doubted that it was possible, having seen a great many
smaller appeals in the area fail. I am delighted to have been proven wrong
and am happy that the Sir George Martin Trust has been able to help. I have
been tremendously impressed with how the appeal has been run and applaud the
committee and their advisor, Patrick Boggon of Tarnside Consulting, for the
great job that they have done.”

equivalent of the head of fundraising in a major charity for a small sum which would
only employ an inexperienced fundraiser.”

his client's objectives. With Girlguiding UK he has developed an overall strategy
for fundraising dealing with the wider long-term consequences as well as the
immediate project. His considerable ability to understand the ethos and purpose
