Art Funding Cuts are Coming - Are you Prepared?
This week Peter Bazalgette writing for the Guardian produced a facinating, if frightening, article on the future of funding for the arts. Jeremy Hunt the Conservative culture minister has intimated that severe cuts in funding will happen although by how much will not be clear until the Autumn spending review. The article summarised 'With deep funding cuts on the way, our cultural institutions must learn new ways of harnessing private philanthropy'.
The issue will be finding new sources of funding
This may be a new issue for the arts and cultural sectors but developing philanthropic major donors is a issue that the charitable sector has been tackling for years. Tarnside have worked with many charities to help them develop strategies for fundraising, undertaking feasibility studies and executing major donor development campaigns.
