Amy Blake, Associate Consultant

Amy joined the Tarnside team in 2008 after spending ten years working within the voluntary sector for organisations including Marie Curie Cancer Care and The British Red Cross.  As Head of Fundraising for Capability Scotland, the sister charity in Scotland to Scope, Amy led a team of 12 and was responsible for raising £1.6 million annual voluntary income.

Amy brings an analytical eye and a level-headed approach to project development and fundraising. She has a wealth of experience across a range of fundraising disciplines including individual giving, trusts and corporate partnerships. She has particular expertise in Corporate and Community Fundraising where she has been responsible for strategy development and the recruitment, training and ongoing motivation of staff and volunteers.  

With a long list of successful applications under her belt, Amy has an in-depth and up to date knowledge of lottery and trust applications.  Her experience in this area, especially in regard to research, supported by her writing skills, ensure that requests are appropriate and timely, thus maximising the chance of success for charity clients.

With her logical approach and penchant for all things statistical, Amy is able to assist charities in maximising the potential of their existing databases and providing impartial advice and support when changing, choosing and implementing such systems to ensure a best value purchase that will save time and money and meet the charities future needs.

Amy’s qualifications include a degree in politics and Chartered Institute of Marketing certification. She set up the Institute of Fundraising Events Special Interest Group in Scotland to provide a support forum for exchange of ideas and best practice for Events Fundraisers in Scotland.  When not working Amy is the proud mother of Oliver and Bea and is a competitive horsewoman.
